Program Description / Overview
The Health Assessment course is a core professional course in nursing, aligned with clinical nursing, community nursing, and healthcare-related positions. Through this course, students will be able to comprehensively collect patients’ health histories, conduct physical assessments, psychosocial assessments, and electrocardiogram (ECG) examinations. Students will also be able to correctly collect specimens, prepare patients for various examinations, and interpret auxiliary examination results.

Through this course, students will be able to comprehensively collect patients’ health histories, conduct physical assessments, psychosocial assessments, and electrocardiogram (ECG) examinations. Students will also be able to correctly collect specimens, prepare patients for various examinations, and interpret auxiliary examination results.
In addition, students will be able to formulate nursing diagnoses and complete nursing case documentation. The course also aims to cultivate a patient-centered care philosophy, encouraging students to care for and respect patients and to establish positive and effective nurse–patient relationships.

健康评估》课程是护理的专业核心课程，对接临床护理、社区护理、健康保健等工作岗位，学生通过学习本课程，能够对患者进行全面的采集健康史、进行身体评估、心理社会评估及心电图检查，能够正确的采集标本、做好各项检查前的准备、看懂辅助检查的结果；能够作出护理诊断并书写护理病例；同时培养学生以患者为中心的理念，关心爱护患者，建立良好的护患关系。
This course is jointly offered by Lincoln University College (LUC), Malaysia, and QingYuan Polytechnic, China.
Lincoln University College, located in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, was established in 2002 and upgraded to university college status in 2011. It is approved by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia and accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). The university emphasizes professional education, applied learning, and international academic collaboration.
QingYuan Polytechnic is a public higher vocational institution in China, with strong expertise in nursing, healthcare, and applied technical education. Through this joint collaboration, the program integrates academic knowledge with practical training to enhance students’ professional competencies.

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to:
- Collect comprehensive patient health histories.
- Perform physical assessments using standardized nursing methods.
- Conduct psychological and social assessments.
- Correctly collect clinical specimens and prepare patients for examinations.
- Interpret common auxiliary examination and laboratory test results.
- Identify normal and abnormal electrocardiogram (ECG) findings.
- Formulate nursing diagnoses and complete nursing case documentation.
- Apply patient-centered care principles in nursing practice.
